THE TEXAS MILE ANNOUNCES 2012 DATES
March 23-24 and October 26-28, 2012

THE TEXAS MILE AND BRM PARTNER TO RECOGNIZE
PARTICIPANTS AT THE WORLD RENOWNED SPEED FESTIVAL
OCTOBER 21-23, 2011

Press Release: Beeville, Texas, September 30, 2011
The Texas Mile and BRM watches are proud and delighted to announce the birth of a new and exciting partnership based on a common and unabated passion for the world of motorsports and high performance. The next event to be held by the Texas Mile will take place on October 21-23, 2011, at the Chase Field Industrial Complex, in Beeville, Texas, a new location replacing the Goliad Industrial Airpark in Goliad, Texas.

Set on an airfield providing plenty of room for top speeds and family entertainment, the Texas Mile was created in 2003 by the Matus’ to offer North American motorsports and grand touring enthusiasts an opportunity to enjoy the full scale of their machines’ performances without risking a huge ticket on the freeway. This year again, on October 21-23, the world renowned event will feature a wide range of vehicles, from land speed racers to street legal automobiles and motorcycles, racing in the most dynamic, fun and contemporary environment.

To serve their passion for speed, outstanding sportsmanship and bold engineering, BRM and the Texas Mile share the same set of core values: a commitment to efficiency and excellence, camaraderie, and a solid infrastructure based on precision technology, experience and challenge. It was therefore only natural for the French luxury watch manufacturer and the Texas Mile to decide to join forces for all future events. To celebrate the spirit of racing and its new partnership with the Texas Mile, BRM will reward the new top speed record achiever for the Texas Mile course in Beeville, Texas with a unique edition V14-44 wristwatch featuring the Texas Mile logo. Like all BRM models, the V14-44 is a concentrate of modern technology made of titanium and superfine 18/8 stainless steel, as well as an ode to the greats of motor racing. BRM and the Texas Mile will also reward selected VIPs with gorgeous BRM key chains adorned with the event’s logo. All spectators will be given the opportunity to vote who should be recognized as some of the VIP’s.
Stay tuned for more announcements regarding the criteria for these coveted recognitions.

The Texas Mile is taking place on October 21-23, 2011 at the Chase Field Industrial Complex in Beeville, Texas. Come out and join in on the fun. Spectators and Vendors welcomed to the three days of the event.

Halloween at The Texas Mile
Bill Warner and Wild Brothers Racing sets a new record at The Texas Mile

Dear Texas Mile Participants and Fans,

We hope you enjoyed and safe and spooktacular Halloween. Thank you all for coming out to The October 2010 Texas Mile. It was another record breaking weekend.

In a blur of blue and white, Bill Warner and Wild Brothers Racing reminded us why Suzuki named one of the fastest production motorcycles on the planet Hayabusa. In Japanese, the word "hayabusa" refers to the peregrine falcon, a formidable bird of prey and one of the fastest creatures on the planet. On Sunday, Bill made a stunning 278.6 mph pass on his turbocharged blue and white 2000 Suzuki Hayabusa, setting a new record at The Texas Mile.

The fastest automobile at the October Mile was #125, Jonah Yokubaitis in an orange Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 clocking an impressive 243.0 mph at the one mile mark. Congratulations, Jonah! However, the record for the fastest car still stands with Richard Holt at 250.1 MPH in his Lamborghini Gallardo from March 2010. Both speeds were pretty dang fast!

A total of 1,386 passes were made over the 3-day weekend. Some of those passes didn't make it to the speed trap, but still counted as runs. 135 of those passes were over 200 mph!

We saw many new faces at The Mile, participants and spectators alike. People traveled from all across the country including Oregon, Florida, California, Illinois and New Jersey and as far away as Canada, London, and Afghanistan. Participants ranged in age from 16 to 79+, some on motorcycles, some in cars. The vast knowledge, experience and camaraderie shared across generations is what makes The Texas Mile such a great event.

Our two new food vendors, Fusion Taco and Taste Sensations served up gourmet food from sun up to sun down including breakfast, lunch and dinner plus new private catering service to The Texas Mile participants and their crews.

Two new spectator tents offered welcome shade from the Texas sun. One new tent at Start and one at the One Mile speed trap.

VP Racing Fuels was on site this October with top quality racing fuels adding a bit more "oomph" to those seeking to tweak the most from their machinery. Bill Warner can attest to that with 278.6 mph now under his belt.

The press turned out in full force. Word is definitely spreading about how much fun there is to be had at The Texas Mile! We had the pleasure of welcoming reporters and photographers from the Houston Chronicle, Victoria Advocate and Automobile Magazine among others. Several riders and drivers were interviewed for stories about The Mile. Additional articles appeared in magazines and newspapers including Living Magazine, El Campo Leader-News, Victoria Advocate and the Goliad Express.

We look forward to seeing you at the March 25-27, 2011 Texas Mile. Stay tuned for updates, registration announcements and more exciting things to add to your experience at The Texas Mile.

WE WILL SEE YOU IN BEEVILLE IN MARCH!
